Position details

Brief description of tasks

  • Lead the operations of the environmental team dedicated to the project;
  • Ensure the daily coordination of environmental activities according to the needs of the design and construction team;
  • Supervise the preparation of applications for provincial and federal authorization and municipal permits and follow up with the authorities concerned;
  • Supervise the drafting and implementation of specific environmental management plans (water, air, noise, vibrations, soil, wildlife, emergency response, etc.);
  • Ensure the management of environmental non-conformities and the implementation of corrective measures;
  • Ensure the management of complaints and requests from stakeholders;
  • Prepare the required budget estimates and rigorously monitor them;
  • Provide technical and administrative support to the team; Ensure the implementation of corporate methods and procedures in ethics and compliance, Health-Safety-Environment and Quality within his team.

Salary offered : To be discussed + performance bonus + five (5) weeks of vacation upon entering the position.

Hours/week : 37.5 hours/week

Prerequisites for this job

  • Bachelor's degree in geology, geological or civil engineering or in a professional discipline related to the environment (specialization in environment and/or geotechnics);
  • Member in good standing of the order of engineers or geologist of Quebec (an asset);
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in the environment, with significant experience in the context of major construction projects;
  • Experience in the following areas of expertise:
    • Implementation and maintenance of an environmental management system (EMS);
    • Permit applications from federal, provincial (Quebec) and municipal authorities;
    • Management of contaminated soil and materials;
    • Environmental monitoring in construction;
    • Characterization of the environmental environment (fauna and flora);
    • Stakeholder management.
  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary teams;
  • Very good knowledge of administrative systems and monitoring of project costs Sense of organization, team spirit and leadership ability;
  • Experience in mentoring environmental professionals;
  • Ability to communicate in French and English, both written and spoken.
